Your sample will be delivered directly to our Specimen Processing Department by a South Bend Medical Foundation courier. A single employee is assigned to your sample from receipt into the processing area until its delivery to the technical department, all within two hours of the sample being delivered.
Samples are verified against the specimen transfer list, sorted, and then distributed to the designated testing area. Staffing is maintained and scheduled so that workflow is optimal, minimizing the time a sample is in the Specimen Processing Department. Currently, there are over 1,000 manual orders per day and 2,500 interfaced orders that are processed daily though this department. Specimen processing clerks are well aware that the integrity, confidentiality and accuracy of processing the specimens are most important.
