Plant Operations

As society continues to encourage a green atmosphere, South Bend Medical Foundation does its best to re-evaluate the choices made concerning our waste procedures. In 2009, the Foundation evaluated our policies on electricity and opted to remove every other light from the fixtures on each floor, cutting down on the amount of electricity used. In addition, the disposal of waste was also considered as efforts were made to recycle more, and pay closer attention to which items can safely be incinerated, sending less waste to the landfill. Employees are conscious of recycling items including aluminum cans, cardboard, batteries and plastic bags. The Foundation will continue to evaluate the efforts that are made to help conserve the environment.
