Note: A positive result for Chlamydia IgM and/or IgG does not always indicate current acute infection. Anti-Chlamydia antibodies can persist in some patients for several months or more. Cross-reactivity may also occur with multiple Chlamydia species in primary Chlamydia infection. Some patients may show cross-reactivity due to exposure to more than one Chlamydia species.
