    Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)
  • Clinical Significance:
C4d is a stable activation product of C4 cleavage. C4d is useful in determining classical pathway activation. Concentrations of C4d are increased in patients with immune complex diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and immune complex-induced vasculitis.
  • Reference Range:
    C4d Fragment, EIA
    0.9-8.0 mcg/mL
    Interpretive Data:
C4d is a split product of C4b. It is elevated in sera or plasma of patients with immune complex disease or in patients with classical complement pathway activation (such as hereditary angioedema).
