  • Spec Stability:
    72 hours refrigerated (2-8°C)
Greater than 72 hours, freeze (-20°C) – Do not use frost-free units that undergo repeated freeze/thaw cycles
  • Spec Reject:
    Severely lipemic sample
  • Methodology:
    Double Diffusion Assay
  • Use:
Detection of precipitating antibodies to Blastomyces dermatitidis
  • Clinical Significance:
Histoplasma capsulatum, Blastomyces dermatitidis, Coccidioides immitis, and Aspergillus fumigatus are causative agents of deep-seated mycoses. Radiographically, lesions may be difficult to distinguish from tuberculous lesions, neoplasms, cancerous tissue, and each other. Fungal immunodifusion is a tool for evaluation of suspected mycoses.
