Detection of precipitating antibodies to Blastomyces dermatitidis - Clinical Significance:
Histoplasma capsulatum, Blastomyces dermatitidis, Coccidioides immitis, and Aspergillus fumigatus are causative agents of deep-seated mycoses. Radiographically, lesions may be difficult to distinguish from tuberculous lesions, neoplasms, cancerous tissue, and each other. Fungal immunodifusion is a tool for evaluation of suspected mycoses. - Reference Range:
